How Can I Know My Destiny if I can’t even get through the day?
I’m struggling through life as it is, how can I take time out to know my destiny?
It’s bad enough we have bills, responsibilities and all the small things life throws in our paths. Destiny and following our dreams always seems to take a back seat to the seemingly important.
I want to know my destiny, but I have no choice I have responsibilities.
You have to fix your car when it breaks down and figure out how to make ends meet when you can’t work. You have no choice but to face the realities of life. These are all or nothing. In other words, you can fix your car, or you don’t have one. You can work while you’re sick or lose the roof over your head.
I have more important things to do.
We see the problems of life as a zero-sum game, life wins, and we lose. This mentality couldn’t be further from the truth, all you have is a choice. You choose to fix the car or not. You decide to work or not. There is always a choice.
I Don’t need to know my destiny. There’s No Time for Change
You want to change. Deep down you know you can’t stay where you are. Still, every time you look at the big picture you realize how difficult it is. It goes without saying. You’re overwhelmed by how much time it’s going to take. The enormity is too much. You don’t have the energy to add more to your plate.
It’s time to move forward. I need to know my destiny
You get it. Everything in your body is telling you it’s time to move forward. Still, you hold back because you don’t want to make another mistake. You start to feel the time ticking away. You’ve wasted too much time already. What if you start over and it’s the wrong choice? It’s okay, this process of knowing yourself is just a process. I know my destiny but it’s fluid, and it can change. I’m okay with that.
These dilemmas are common to us all. If you’re dealing with these problems, you’re not alone. There are so many others who are still struggling through life. Trapped in a box, only able to move just enough to get through the next crisis. It’s never enough to see past the wall in front of you to the possibilities of what life can be.
If I get out of the box, I will know my destiny
1. Make yourself a priority
I know the mortgage is due and your car broke down last week. You “have to” work overtime but this cycle is never going to end until you come first.
Work on yourself, figure out what you want from life, make a plan and take action. Even if it’s only an hour a day, work towards your dreams.
In ten years you can look back and find yourself in the same place. You can also choose to take action and see the journey you’ve taken. Only the latter will make you feel pride in what you’ve accomplished.
I have become a priority. I know what I want I know my destiny.
2. Face your problems and admit you created them
Facing your problems is more than putting out fires. On the contrary, it’s about facing your fears. I’m not talking about the obvious stuff here. We all have responsibilities, we all have basic needs that we have to meet. This necessary part of living goes beyond the day to day monotony of life.
Facing your problems means learning what you’re doing to block yourself from achieving what you want. You will always have something going on. Your boss hates you. You can’t find a job. You may hate your job. Your partner left you, blah blah blah.
In the end, all you have is you. My words are very cynical, I get it, but you put yourself in a box, and this is a step to getting out of the box.
3. Be Honest with yourself
Are you not going anywhere because you can’t or because you won’t? Is there really no way to achieve the things you want? Have you tried everything?
Asking yourself questions like these is where the honesty comes in. There’s always a way. It may take longer. You may have to work a lot harder than someone else that’s inevitable. However, there’s always a way.
4. Be Authentic
There’s nothing worse than having everyday problems stacked on your internal issues. All this while trying to balance the stress of trying to be someone else. I can guarantee, you’re performing a balancing act that will end in disaster. It’s exhausting and unnecessary. We know this, but we continue to torture ourselves with building a facade.
You don’t have to fake it till you make it. You have to practice until you become it. Don’t ever fake it. You don’t need the added stress. Besides most people can spot a fake a mile away.
If I am authentic, I will know my destiny
5. Give your dreams a chance
Stop dreaming about what could be and start taking action, no matter how small. Don’t stay stuck in “what if” mode. Don’t graduate to “I can’t,” you’re only doing yourself a disservice.
Your thoughts will become your truth. If you can’t, then you won’t. Don’t allow your dreams fade. Give them a chance to live and grow. Don’t succumb to the “I can’t” mentality. When this thought crosses, you’re mind make sure to ask yourself if you’ve even tried. If you haven’t taken any action, then you don’t have the right to use the words “I can’t.”
6. Be Grateful
Perhaps you’re not in an ideal situation right now. Odds are you’ve got a roof over your head and somebody that loves you. Be thankful for what you have right now. Cherish every day you’re alive, you can feel.
At a more practical level, you have skills. Since you’re reading this I’m assuming you can read or you’ve figured out a clever way to decipher this text, you can learn, and you can become a better version of yourself. You only have to choose it.
It all comes down to your choices.
You have tremendous power, the power of choice. When you feel that you have no choice, you’re destroying your power.
Struggling to figure out who you are, what you want and how to get it are just an added torment. You don’t have to know your destiny or what you want to get the mortgage paid. So, this crucial part of your life gets neglected.
Day after day, year after year, you go on living for your essential needs. Every now and again you buy something to make you feel better about not living the life you want to live. In the end, you have things you don’t care about and are nowhere closer to what you want.
The buildup of anxiety from not knowing who you are and where you’re going. If you’ve become submissive to your feelings of confusion, chaos and loss always remember that you have a choice. Start here with these six simple actions. Make a choice.
